Calcutt - Dowling Funeral Home has provided funeral services for families in Florence, South Carolina. We take great pride in our funeral services, our focus is to provide individualized funeral services designed to meet the needs of each family. We are happy to guide you through all aspects of your loved one's funeral or memorial service.
Our history
Cain Funeral Home, Inc. is owned and operated today by the same core group of local families who were its founders. On October 21, 1976, the South Carolina Secretary of State issued a corporate charter to that group in the name of "Evans Funeral Home, Inc." The first service in our newly constructed facility was conducted on June 8, 1977. In 1980, we changed our name to Cain Funeral Home, Inc. A major renovation and addition project was completed in 1989, virtually doubling the size of the facility. On January 10, 2002, our state of the art on site cremation facility was licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Additionally, in 2002 substantial interior renovations were made to our facility and virtually all our interior furnishings were replaced or refurbished. In 2003, we completed a major exterior renovation project to modernize the appearance of our facility.
