Florence, SC Yvonne Free Field, 62, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at McLeod Hospice House. Born in Orangeburg, SC, she was a daughter of Phin and Mary Davis Free. Yvonne served her community by working at McLeod Hospital for 34 years. During her time there she touched many lives and made dozens of "best "friends from every walk of life. Yvonne had an infectious sense of humor. If you were a friend or co-worker for any period of time you will likely always carry a memory of being the subject of a practical joke. Yvonne was devoted to her family. She was a loving and caring mother to her two children and a doting grandmother or "E'Ma" as she was known to Charlie and Davis. She was the sunshine of her parent's lives and the best big sister that three brothers could ever have. She is survived by her parents; son, Kent Field; daughter, Mary Alice (Jonathan) Dewitt of Florence; two grandchildren, Charlie and Davis Dewitt; and three brothers, Barry (Lisa) Free of Florence, Larry (Terry) Free of Mt. Pleasant, and James (Linda) Free of Florence. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1300 Second Loop Road, Florence, SC, directed by Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
