Florence, SC Xenia Mae Hutton Copeland, 89, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Presbyterian Home of SC. Born in Florence, SC, Xenia was a daughter of the late Tillman Hutton and Inez Richbourg Hutton. Xenia was a lifelong resident of Florence and was retired from the SC Department of Employment. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she married her husband, Lawrence W. Copeland, 71 years ago. Xenia loved working in her yard with flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patricia "Patsy" Diane Watts; a brother, Harry Hutton, and a sister, Sarah Orjala. Xenia is survived by her husband, Lawrence W. Copeland of Florence; her son, Larry Copeland of Sanford, FL; grandchildren, Melanie Markwordt and Samuel Watts; nieces, Beth Gerot and DeeDee Digby; extended family and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held at Central United Methodist Church in Florence at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2014. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at the church, prior to the service. Cain Funeral Home is assisting the family.
