Wilson Postell, 87, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, 6/22/2023.  He was born in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Thomas Yorkie Postell and Nina Hazel Strickland Postell.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elma Esther Koskiniemi Postell and seven brothers, Gerald, Bert, Winston, Eddie, Bill, Tommy and Clyde Postell.

Wilson attended Saw Dam Baptist Church in Charleston and was the music director for more than 20 years at Sycamore Baptist Church in Charleston.  He enjoyed rock and gem collecting, cooking.  He loved his grandchildren and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Surviving is his daughter, Rebecca Postell Jordan (Floyd); son, Clint Postell (Susan); brother, David Nathaniel Postell; two sisters, Barbara Jean Crosby Postell and Nell Postell Platt; six grandchildren, Bayley Rebecca Lord, Hayden Charles Postell, Taylor Reese Postell, Alex Osterman, Nikki Chavis Perry (Rob), and Julia Jordan Mudd (Rayme); one great-grandson, Ethan Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a memorial service held at a later date.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Postell family.
