Willie Joe Calcutt, 90, of Florence, SC, passed away on New Year's Day, 2025 at the McLeod Hospice House.  Joe was born in Pamplico, SC, a son of the late Luther James and Thelma Collins Calcutt.  He served his country in the US Army and was a retired rural mail carrier in the Florence and Pamplico areas.  Joe loved growing things, having farmed his land right up to his passing.  He was a member of Effingham Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon, Elder, and taught the Fellowship Sunday School Class.  Joe loved the Lord and his family.

He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his first wife, Gloria Ann Meggs Calcutt and his second wife, Peggy Sue Bacot Calcutt; his daughter, Ginger Ann Calcutt Williamson; a sister, Mary  Elizabeth "Lib" Calcutt, four brothers, James L. "Buddy" Calcutt, W.S. "Billy" Calcutt, and George Charles Calcutt, Luther Ray Calcutt; a sister-in-law, Norma Leach Meggs; and a niece, Mary Frances Calcutt.

Surviving are a granddaughter, Lindsay Leeann (Eric) Driggers, three great grandchildren, Rivers, Holden and Everly Ann Driggers, a sister, Faye C. (Wayne) Gibbs; three brothers, Bobby G. (Sue) Calcutt, Jakie O. (Carolyn) Calcutt, Rev. Randall "Randy" L. (Alice) Calcutt; a brother-in-law, Benjamin Robert "Robbie" Meggs; four sisters-in law, Joan Calcutt, Elizabeth Calcutt, Renea Calcutt, and Brenda Calcutt; a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Hewitt Cemetery directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the funeral home.
