William James Maurer, 72, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Mr. Maurer was born in Canton, Ohio a son of the late Harry Maurer and Elizabeth Fehn Maurer. He enjoyed volunteering with the Red Cross and activities with the local amateur radio club. He also enjoyed line dancing and attending NASCAR races in Darlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, David Maurer, Paul Maurer, and Mary Maurer Fortney.

Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer M. Moskos; son, Michael Maurer; and his numerous grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Red Cross.

A private family service is planned to be held in Ohio.
