William "Bill" Marvin Kress

William "Bill" Marvin Kress, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the age of 89.

Mr. Kress was born in Rochester, NY, the only son of the late Charles and Luella Kress. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Nancy (Hyman) Kress, as well as his sons, Marc (Marilyn) and Brian and his three grandchildren, Austin, Colby and Anderson. He was a longtime employee of Eastman Kodak Company and an Army Veteran while living in Rochester, NY. Since his retirement he has worked with and volunteered for many organizations including the churches he attended, Nik and the Nice Guys, Charles G. Finney School, the Florence Ballet, and the Florence Regional Arts Alliance. While with the Florence Regional Arts Alliance he was the Inaugural recipient of the Frank Crow Award. Most recently, he was a member of Faith Covenant Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He loved working in his yard and growing vegetables. He was an avid fan of both the English Premier League Football and the American National Soccer Teams.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM, followed by visitation with family and friends at Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home, 512 Second Loop Road, Florence, SC 29505.
