William Emory Bauknight, Jr., 96, of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the Methodist Manor.  He was born in Columbia, SC, a son of the late William Emory Bauknight and Ruhama MacHughes Bauknight.  He is also predeceased by his wife, Louise Rest Bauknight.

Mr. Bauknight was a veteran, having served in the Army Air Corp during WWII.  He attended Clemson University for 3 ½ years and he was an engineer for CSX Railroad.

He is survived by his three children, Karl William Bauknight (Carol) of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; Stephen Terrence Bauknight (Nancy) of Ellicott City, MD; Rebecca Bauknight Hopkins (Bob) of North Augusta, S.C.; three grandchildren, Michael Wesley Bauknight (Emily), Stephen Howell Bauknight (Megan), and William Cathcart Hopkins.

The family will hold a memorial service at the Methodist Manor at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 6, 2018.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Society or to the Maryland Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
