William P. "Bill" Jellison

William P. Jellison, 98, husband of the late Rosemary B. died on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Mr. Jellison was a 41 year resident of Florence and soon became active in many civic organizations. Among them he served as chairman of the board of the Florence Symphony and the chairman of the board of the Senior Citizens Association of Florence County. He was also active in the Florence Little Theater. For many years he served on the Francis Marion University Arts Alive Festival committee.

Bill’s professional years were spent in the marketing/advertising world. He was an account executive for television station WBTW for over ten years. In later years he established his own advertising agency.

He was a veteran during the Korean War period, having served in the US Army.

Surviving are three children, Katherine Patrick of Lafayette, IN; Susan Smalls of Florence and Thomas A. of Coventry, RI, and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandchild.

Bill is also survived by the best friend on earth, Daniel Akers

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2026 in the chapel of Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Medicine, Florence Symphony or the Senior Citizens Association.
