William "Bill" Hallie Griffin, Jr., 87, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House.  He was born in Dillon, SC, a son of the late Attie Mae Hunt Griffin and William Hallie Griffin,  Sr.  He is also predeceased by his wife, Bernadine Fillio Griffin, a son, William Hallie Griffin, III, a sister, Grace DeFields and a brother, Robert Griffin.

Bill served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.  He was retired from Stone Container where he worked as a machine operator.  He was a former member of Tans Bay Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Bernice (Willis) Griffin Couture and Edith Mae (Ben) Griffin DiMarzio, both of Darlington; a brother, Charles Jerry (Beverly) Griffin of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, directed by Cain-Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  A private graveside service with military honors will take place at Florence National Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018.

Memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
