William "Bill" Edward Maleckar, 68, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.  He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the son of the late John and Lois Hergert Maleckar.  He is also predeceased by his brother, Bryan Maleckar.

Bill was well known in Florence as "Turtle".  He was semi-retired from Carolina Typewriter.  He enjoyed playing billiards, golf, scrabble and karaoke.  Bill loved people, especially those friends he had at his favorite hangout, the Circle Fountain.

Surviving are four brothers, Jay Maleckar (Suzanne) of Florence; Tom Maleckar of Vancouver, WA; Bob Maleckar (Linda) of Florence and Chris Maleckar (MacKel) of Ridgeville; a sister, Susan Maleckar Dean (Jim) of Florence; a sister-in-law, Katie Maleckar of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Circle Fountain, date and time to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Miracle League of Florence County.
