Wilbur Everett Hobbs, Jr., 70, of Timmonsville, SC, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was born in Florence, the son of the late Wilbur and Louise Fraser Hobbs. Everett was a 1973 graduate of Southside High School. He worked as a 1st class production operator at Wellman/Fiber Industries. Everett loved his church, Tans Bay, and volunteered his time there as a greeter and security. He loved fishing, eating and Clemson football. His beloved pontoon boat was "Maggie's Joy", named after his pup. He loved traveling with his family on vacations to the mountains, Clemson and the lake, but the apples of his eye were his grandbabies.
Everett is predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter, Audrey Kate "Baby Kate" Byrd.
Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Connie Pedersen Hobbs; daughter, Audrey Hobbs Byrd (William "TJ"); two grandchildren, Willow Grace and Charleigh Temple; a step granddaughter, Lena Byrd; two sisters, Lovett Hobbs White and Brenda Lee (Ernie); and four nieces, Amie Mudge, Heather Andrews, Tiffany Edwards and Sharmon Schyuler; and a nephew, Ashley Register.
A funeral service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Tans Bay Baptist Church with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tans Bay Baptist Church, 3919 S. Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505.
