A graveside service, with military honors by the Florence County Honor Guard, for Walter Charles Overfield, Jr, will be at 2:00, Friday, August 15, 2008, in Florence National Cemetery. Mr. Overfield, Jr, 85, died Saturday, August 9, 2008, in a Darlington nursing facility. He was born June 15, 1923, in Buffalo, NY, to the late Walter Charles and Inez May Hall Overfield. He served in WWII with the Army Air Corps. Surviving, are: son, Walter Charles Overfield, III of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Anne Gill of Gainsville, GA; granddaughters, Kim Howe of Gainesville, GA, Catherine Overfield of Virginia Beach, VA, and Christina Rollyson of Houston, TX and grandson, Steven Howe of Gainesville, GA.
