Virginia Gay Jackson, 75, of Florence, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 19, 2025.  She was born in Dillon, SC on June 29,1949, and was the daughter of the late Doris Rogers and Norman Hyatt.  Gay was the wife of Larry Jackson.  They met at Dillon High School in 1967 and were married in 1969 and the "love story" began.  A deal was made that she would stay home and finish raising me and take care of our beautiful twins, Amy and Jamie, and she did a fantastic job.  She loved her family, loved her cats, yard work, pulling weeds and most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior and put Him in the middle of everything in her life and that gave us 55 years of marriage.

Gay is survived by her husband, Larry Jackson; daughter, Amy (Chris) Collins; son, Jamie R. Jackson; sister, June Hyatt of Dillon; brother, Jimmy E. (Linda) Hyatt of Wilmington, NC; Aunt Elizabeth Moranchel (Rapheal) of Marion; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris V. Rogers and Norman Hyatt; and her grandparents, Mack and Blanche Caulder.

A graveside funeral service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel with Entombment to follow.  The family will receive friends at the Mausoleum Chapel from 11:00 until 12:00 PM just prior to the service.
