Virginia Bonette Brown Rhodes, known as "Bonnie" by family and friends, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018, at her residence after an extended illness. Bonnie was the daughter of the late Claude and Virginia Brown of Florence, SC. She is also predeceased by a sister, Sandra Elizabeth Brown. Bonnie was born in Florence, SC on June 30, 1945. She graduated from McClenaghan High School and pursued a degree in music and early childhood education at Gardner-Webb. Bonnie loved all children and was a caregiver to many children over the years. "Miss Bonnie" will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronny Rhodes; brothers, Vic Brown and Mike (Nancy) Brown of Florence; sister-in-love, Linda Lynch Brown of Timmonsville; special nieces, Lea (Jimmy) Gardner, Shelley (Rick) Fogel-Mohn and Jennifer Fogel; favorite nephew, Tory (Jessica) Brown; great nieces, Camryn Gardner, Morgan Schmidt and Harper Lin Brown; great nephews, Carson Gardner, Victor Brown and Griggs Brown. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at her residence. The family would like to extend their gratitude to McLeod Hospice, especially Lakeisha Franks, Diane Johnson, Michael Johnson and Rev. Glenn Carter. She loved all of them dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ebenezer Weekday Ministry or EBC Building Fund.
