A memorial service for Mr. Van R. "Blue" Bone, husband of the late Ina Mae Bone, will be at 4:30 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Cain Funeral Home, conducted by Mr. Keith Hinson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association 520 Gervais Street Suite 300 Columbia, SC 29201. Mr. Bone, 71, died December 17, 2009, at Carolina's Hospital System after an illness. He was born September 28, 1938, in Florence, SC, to the late Joseph C. and Olivia Flowers Bone. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, James B. "Boss" Bone, and ex-wife Velma Jones. Survivors include: daughter, Cynthia M. Bone of Florence; sister, Daisy Lee Jeffords of Florence; brother, J. Clyde Bone of Florence; granddaughter, Savannah Stidham; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. James Mark Harris, Dr. Pongstorn Pitiranggon, and all the staff of Carolina's Hospital for their loving care of Mr. Bone.
