Ursula Irma Newsome, 80, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was born in Erlenbach, Switzerland, a daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Bell Gaechter Spalinger. She was predeceased, in addition to her parents; by three husbands, David Price, Sr, Robert Smith and John Paul Newsome; a son, Ernest Price; and two granddaughters. Ursula was very active in her church, Immanuel Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir and was a member of the Women's Auxillary. She was an accountant, loved knitting, and was fluent in five languages. Surviving are her children; David C. (Dianne) Price, Janette (Tom) Ballio, Connie (William) Alvarado, Dale (Cindy) Price and Bobby (Sarah) Smith; sisters, Edith Spalinger and Annelies Spalinger; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A family led memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Immanuel Baptist Church and they will receive friends in the commons area immediately following the service. Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the SPCA.
