A funeral service for Tommie H. Peek, husband of Mary Minchew Peek, will be at 2:30PM Monday November 23, 2009 in Cain Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Tony Smith. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2:15PM Monday. Memorials may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 2503 Whitehall Rd., Anderson, SC 29625 or charity of the donor's choice. Mr. Peek, 67, formerly of Florence died Friday November 20, 2009, at his residence. He was born, May 10, 1942 in Portsmouth, VA, to the late William Newton Peek Sr. and Essie Mae Jackson Peek. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Dianne Ezzell Peek. Mr. Peek worked for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller in Florence and Anderson, where he retired. He served in the Air National Guard for nine years. He was an avid football fan and loved antique cars. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Anderson. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: daughters, Leisa P. Rice of Greer, SC, and Tracy P. (Joel) Shelley of Charleston, SC; step-daughter, Rhonda (Marty) Watkins of Florence; step-son, Rodney Rinehardt of Anderson, SC; Grandchildren, Diane and Gracie Shelley, Michael and Ryan Watkins and Luke Rinehardt; brother, William N. Peek Jr. of Orlando, FL .
