Thomas Julian “Jay” McPherson, 53, of Ladson, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Jay was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Tommy Clyde McPherson and Irene Wilson Calcutt McPherson. He graduated from South Florence High School Class of 1991 and was a CSX Engineer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Surviving are his wife, Dawn R. McPherson; children, Rachel Nichole McPherson and Jake Wilson McPherson and his fiancée, Amy Vrablic; step-son, Caleb G. Brasil; grandchildren, Daniel Vrablic and Everleigh Vrablic; step-mom, Frances Charles McPherson; sisters, Ada Laurie (Charlie) Griffin and Tammy McPherson; step-sister, Mary Keith (Natalie) Wiggins; step-brother, Jim Wiggins; aunt, Rosalee (Tommy) Jones; nephews, Clay (Madi) Flowers, Ryan Griffin, and Harold W. Hubbard, III; nieces, Rachel Griffin, Madi Flowers, Victoria Bee Martin, and Briann Bee; great-nephew, Sebastian Martin; great-nieces, Raylynn Flowers and Presley Flowers.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2026 at Cypress Grove Church with the service to be held at 4:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in McPherson Cemetery directed by Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home.
