Mullins, South Carolina Sylvia Anne Freeman Bult, a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 72, at her home in Mullins, SC on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 5:18 PM. Mrs. Bult was born in Hillsborough, NC, a daughter of the late Theodore Marvin and Mary Lee Dunkin Freeman. She was a gifted music teacher and director, who influenced so many through choruses, choirs and ensembles through the years. You were always blessed to hear one of Sylvia's cantatas. A natural, she instilled into countless students by example and precept, a lifelong love of reading and appreciation of all kinds of literature. Sylvia always showed great love, patience, a gentleness and fairness and an inherent dignity and dedication. She was well loved by her students. Sylvia taught at Pee Dee Academy, Mullins, SC; Open Bible Christian School, Valdosta, GA and Dillon Christian School, Dillon, SC. Sylvia and David were happily married one month short of 50 years. She was a faithful member, teacher, pianist and choir director of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Marion, SC. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by a brother, Ted Freeman and a sister, Gloria Freeman Wagner. Surviving are her loving husband, Dr. David Charles Bult, Sr.; two sons, Reverend Dr. David C. (Jo Ann) Bult, Jr. of Mullins and Reverend Bryan Freeman (Michelle Drew) Bult of Fayetteville, TN; 4 grandchildren, David Charles Bult, III, of Mullins and Mary Drew Bult, Freeman Ford Bult, Harrison Robert Bult and Anna Campbell Bult all of Fayetteville, TN; a brother, Jerry (Janis) Freeman; 3 sisters, Diane Freeman Hancock, Carolyn Freeman (Louis) Hightower and Jayne Elizabeth (Stephen) Kirpatrick; and a number of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, in Marion, SC, directed by Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the services in the church.
