Sybil Owens Lipford, 86, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the McLeod Hospice House.  Sybil was born in Camden, SC, a daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Rush Owens. She graduated from Camden High School and Palmer Business College.  She worked in business for several years before deciding to stay at home and take care of her family.  Sybil was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple, and her interests included cooking, decorating for holidays, sending and receiving special-occasion cards, solving Wheel of Fortune puzzles, crossword puzzles, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers.

She is preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by Ralph M. Lipford, her husband of 49 years, by two sisters, Sandra Owens Newman and Faye Owens Haack and a brother, R. Clark Owens, Jr.

Surviving are two sons, Jody (Laura) Lipford and Kevin Lipford; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jessica Lipford; two brothers-in law, Bill Newman and Michael Haack; two sisters-in-law, Connie Owens and Cornelia Threatt; four nieces and nephews, Kim (Ed), Jill (Todd), Bess and Andy; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025, in the chapel of Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 PM just prior to the services.

Memorials may be made to the Florence Baptist Temple or to McLeod Hospice House.
