Florence, SC Susan Lee "Sue" Filipiak, 70, of Florence, SC, died on Monday, March 10, 2014, at Carolinas Hospital in Florence. She was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, a daughter of the late Henry and Anna Patton Spelbring. Sue moved to Florence from Illinois in 1996 and worked for the US Bank. She was a Eucharist Minister at Saint Anthony when she was in good health. She loved her family and her dogs, Laddie and Champion. Sue is survived by her husband of 51 years, Martin Filipiak, her son, Anthony Filipiak, Sr.; her adopted sons, Daryl Combs and Dean Combs, both of Illinois, and Jake Jacobson of Iowa; and her grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony, Jr., Amanda, Kenny, and Heather; and 3 great grandchildren. The family will have a memorial service in Chicago at a later date.
