Sue T. Biggers Young, 90, of Florence, S.C., died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Heritage Home of Florence. She was born in Anson County, a daughter of the late Lemuel Thomas and Clara E. Porter Tyson. Sue Young was a beloved and diligent mother. Her first priority was instilling a deep rooted faith of our Lord, Jesus Christ to her children. She cared for all in need. Her tireless efforts, to minister to others, were a great inspiration to many. As a woman in business, she excelled. She was the supervisor of the first women's staff at Independent Life Insurance Company. Her staff won many awards and she continued forward to become President of Life Underwriters. Being an honored Board Member of Foster Care for many, many years, her presence helped to place many families back together and insure the protection of the children. Sue Young is predeceased by her parents, three husbands, Ruell V. Biggers, William A. Brigman, Jr., and George K. Young; two sisters, Clara E. Harrill and Anne R. Hursey; one brother, Lemuel Thomas Tyson, Jr. She is also predeceased by several half-brothers and half-sisters in the Morgan and Tyson families. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia B. Norwood (Ray) of Darlington, S.C.; Janice Ann Biggers of Richmond, VA; Brenda B. Causey (Kemp) of Calabash, N.C.; five grandchildren, Noelle L. Shaw-Bell, Esq., Kenneth W. Shaw, Jr., Ryan H. Jordan, Winter R. Pittman and Forrest W. Jordan; two step-grandchildren, Joy E. Causey and Sally C. Bloom; fourteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, December 10, 2012 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home in Florence, SC. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Evergreen Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Cain Funeral Home.
