Steve Scott Powell, 60, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Mr. Powell was born in Timmonsville, SC a son of Audrey Horne Powell-Welch and the late James Lee Powell.  He was owner and operator of The Healthy Food Store and was previously employed with Bryce Mechanical.  Steve loved fishing, camping, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.  He enjoyed NASCAR, Canes hockey, and attending concerts with his son and best friend, Avery, as well as reveling in his most recent role as PaPow to Anslee.

He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, James Ernest Powell.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Marilyn Robertson Powell; son, Avery (Nikki) Powell; chosen daughter, Jessica McElveen; granddaughter, Anslee Powell; mother, Audrey (Darby) Powell-Welch; brother, Ricky (Pam) Powell; sisters-in-law, Ruby (Buddy) Westmoreland, Lori (Kenneth) Holden, Tracey (Alan) Dempsey; brother-in-law, Mark (Colleen) Robertson; a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Jordan Heath; five loving aunts and one uncle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, 165 N. Bethel Road, Scranton, SC 29591.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home with the service to be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Cemetery in Scranton.
