Steve Dennis Parnell, 65, of Effingham, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center.  Steve was born in Lamar, SC, a son of the late George William and Lois Carolyn McElveen Parnell.  He retired from Honda and will always be remembered by his unique sense of humor.  Steve loved being in nature, from walking the creek bank to feeding the deer and birds.  He also loved his Clemson Tigers.

He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his sister, Pam Bradshaw and his beloved four-legged son, Elwood.

Surviving are his three children, Charlie D. (Stephanie) Parnell, Amy (Sam) Ervin and Carolyn McKenzie Parnell; two grandchildren, Olivia Parnell and Marley Matthews; and two brothers, George (Lyna) Parnell and Ashley (Dee) Parnell.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Parnell family.
