Florence, SC Stanley Robert Flowers, 61, of Florence, SC, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at McLeod Hospice House. He was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Sidney R. and Harriet Hatchell Flowers. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Ken M. Emerson, III. Stanley was a retired Engineer with SC Central Railroad. Many are privileged to have been in his huge circle of life-long friends. We will all miss his laughter and good times. There is another comedian in heaven. A world without Stanley is hard to fathom. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Youmans Flowers; a sister, Sydney Flowers (Mark) Walters of Florence, SC; and a niece, Melissa Emerson; nephew, Stephen W. Motte; niece, Heather (Ken) Reno; great-nephew, Jesse W. Motte; and sister and brother in law, Mary Lois and Harold Motte, all of Florence, SC. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Central United Methodist Church.
