A memorial service for Shirley Ann Ray, widow of Elmer Marion Ray, will be at 11:30am, Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Florence Memorial Gardens with Rev. Glenn Carter and Rev. Jessie Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P.O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502-0551. Mrs. Ray, 68, of Florence, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at her residence after an illness. She was born May 22, 1939, in Florence, to the late John Oliver and Annie Ruth Muldrow McKissick. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years. Surviving are: daughters, Helen Kimberly Burton and Paula Marion Stephens both of Florence, Eva Jean Andrews, of Effingham, SC; grandsons, Jackson Stephens and and Denver Burton, both of Florence, and John (Elizabeth) Paul Hatcher of Effingham; granddaughters, Elyse and Lauren Stephens, Keeli Dennis, all of Florence; great-grandson, Gaven Ward, of Florence; great-granddaughter, Hayliegh Hatcher of Effingham; and sister, Betty Jean Driggers, of Florence.
