Shirley Hyman Kennedy, 73, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at McLeod Hospice House. She was born in Florence, SC , the daughter of the late Mae Weatherford Hyman and David Patrick Hyman. She is also predeceased by two brothers, Rev. Herman A. Hyman and Joseph E. Brown, Jr. Shirley was a member of Southside Baptist church for 15 years. She graduated from McClenaghan High School and was a retired mortgage underwriter for over 27 years. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her husband, Marion Thomas "Tommy" Kennedy; two daughters, Mellissa Kennedy Best (Steven) of Florence and Sheila Kennedy Ham of Darlington; two grandchildren, Raven N. Coghlan and Thomas W. Haney; one great grandson, Jeremy Michael Woodward, Jr.; and one brother, Melvin A. Hyman of Middleberry, IN. A funeral service, directed by Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home, will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 18, 2017, in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will follow. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM in the Mausoleum Chapel, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House.
