Shirley Ann Willetts Jones, 85, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. She was born in Camden, New Jersey, the daughter of the late William W. Willetts Sr. and Marion E. Burkhart Willetts Vause. Mrs. Shirley was a member of Bethsaida Community Church.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edmond Murphy Jones, Sr., her parents, and two brothers, Edward Edmund Kean, and William W. Willetts, Jr.

Surviving are three daughters, Sherry Jones of Silver Spring MD, Jacqueline “Jackie” Frye of Effingham, and Dawn Hardee (Donald) of Round Rock TX; a son, Edmond Jones, Jr. (Jessamine) of Chapel Hill NC; and four grandchildren, Christopher Jones (Robyn) and Nicholas Vause of Effingham SC, Tyler Hardee of Austin TX and Kaeya Jones of Chapel Hill NC; great grandchildren, Erica Jeter, Laura Grace Vause, Abney Vause, and Ila Lowder.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home.

Funeral services performed by her nephew, Pastor Frank Kean, will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026, in the chapel of Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Florence National Cemetery.
