Shirley A. Walters, 87, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.  She was born in Causey, SC, a daughter of the late Ina Alford Brown and step-father Foster Brown.  In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by a son, Reese Collins; siblings, Woody Alford, Bobby Alford, Marie Richardson, Genevieve Edwards, and Yvonne White.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Bruce. C. Walters; two sisters,  Hilda Sobon and Wanda Nunu; two sons, Michael Collins (Kathy) and Mitchell Collins (Therese); step-children, Nealey Pearson, Bruce Walters Jr., and Denise Bidwell (Tom); grandchildren, Dakota Miller (Daniel), Madison Desjardins (Stephen), Bryan Bidwell (Megan), Patrick Bidwell (Madeline), Eric Pearson and Erin Harnas (Jack); great grandchildren, Tuesday Miller, Adeline Miller, Brooke Harnas and Drake Harnas.

Shirley was a graduate of Green Sea Floyd High School and then went to work for AVM in Marion, retiring after 35 years.  She was a member of Christ Church, a devoted Christian, a loving and compassionate spouse and mother who loved her whole family dearly.  She enjoyed golfing, cross-stitching, cooking and gardening where she had plenty of beautiful flowers.  She loved having her hands in the dirt because it was when she felt closest to God.

The memorial service and celebration of life for Shirley Walters will be held at the Country Club of South Carolina's clubhouse (3525 McDonald Blvd Florence, SC) starting at 1pm on Saturday, April 5th 2025.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Walters family.
