Florence, SC Sarah Lynn Parnell, 66, of Florence, S.C., died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. She was born in Hemingway, S.C., daughter of the late Douglas and Margaret McClary Hardy. She was a member of Highland Park UMC of Florence. She worked in the school system for many years and enjoyed helping children explore and learn new things. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and had a general love of the outdoors. She is survived by her husband, Francis Marion Parnell of Florence, S.C.; three children, Beth Coleman (Chris) of Florence, S.C.; Frank Parnell (Charlotte) of Florence, S.C.; Emily Pohlman (Mike Prevatte) of Aiken, S.C.; one brother, Allen Hardy, Jr. of Salters, S.C.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Monday, February 18, 2013 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Kingstree, SC, directed by Cain Funeral Home.
