Samuel "Sammy" Thomas Morris, 53, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018, at his residence.  He was born in Florence, a son of the late Thomas Oland and Shelby Moore Phillips.   Sammy loved fishing, especially catfishing, and boating.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Laura Hatchell Morris; a daughter, Ashley Calcutt (Paul); grandchildren, Carter, Zileigh and Hayden Calcutt; a sister, Susan Morris McMullen (Johnny); his step-father, Michael Thomas "Tommy" Phillips; and his father-in-law, Ralph E. Hatchell.

A church led memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Highland Park United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
