Sadie Katie Hamer King, 75, of Florence, SC, died on Monday, November 30, 2015. She was born in Dillon, SC, a daughter of the late Daniel Franklin and Mary Edna H. Hamer. She is also predeceased by two sisters, Kathy Judy and Edna Mae Hamer; and two brothers, William Hamer and Bobby Hamer. She retired from the Florence Morning News.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Kay Hamer of Marion, SC, and six step-children; a brother, Daniel M. (Lois) Hamer of Dillon, SC; a number of nieces and nephews and a very special niece, Patty Seawright of Irmo, SC.

The family would like to thank Dr. Z. Skaff, Dr. Rodriguez, Dr. Harry S. Allen, III and their staff, Carolinas Oncology, Agape Hospice, Palmetto Nursing, special high school friends and special neighbors, Johnny and Mona Israel for all of their loving support and care given to Mrs. Katie.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5, 2015. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Home Away from Home Rescue, 2405 Lakeview Drive, Florence, SC 29501.
