Ruth Martin McMaster, 82, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at McLeod Hospice House.  She was born in Dillon County, a daughter of the late Danny Garner Sr. and Alleen McDowell Garner.  She is also predeceased by a son, Marvin Martin; and two brothers, Danny "DJ" Garner and Aaron "PeeWee" Garner.

Ruth worked at many jobs during her lifetime beginning with seamstress, then going to Union Carbide, General Electric and finally as a home health care worker.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.  Her heart was filled with more joy and gladness for others than for herself.  She enjoyed gardening and nature, and really loved fried catfish! And we certainly cannot leave out her baby bulldog, "Girl", who she loved fiercely.   She was loved by others, as well as the family, and will be missed immensely.

Surviving are two sons, Roger Martin and David Martin; two grandchildren, Michael Kyle Martin and Tyler Scott Martin; four brothers, William Garner, Luther Garner, John Garner and Ishmon Garner; three sisters, Elaine Caulder, Lou Ann Jordan and Helen Garner; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home with burial to follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home just prior to the service.
