Florence, SC Russell Larry Meier, 78, of Florence, SC, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at Carolinas Hospital System. Larry was born in Monroe, MI, a son of the late Hazel Beaubin Meier and Russell August Meier. Larry served his country in the US Army. He was formerly employed at La-Z-Boy Chair Company of Florence and retired from Aluminum Ladder in Florence. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Carole Baker Meier; Three children, Tami Meier (Wayne) Fowler, Philip "Chip" Meier and Terry (Faye) Meier; one brother, Gary (Donna) Meier; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, "Murphy". A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Cain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 on Wednesday, just prior to the service.
