Rosalie Evans Watson, 74, of Florence, S.C., died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was born April, 5, 1938, in Winston Salem, NC., to the late Benjamin Albert and Alpha Shaner Evans. Rosalie was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Darlington, SC. She attended Hollins College. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her part-time work for many years as the lead librarian at the Walton County Library in Monroe, GA She was proceeded in death by Andrew Hill Watson, her husband of 52 years. She is survived by three daughters, Laura W. Bardi (Chris) of Florence, S.C.; Laney W. Preston of Asheboro, N.C.; Elizabeth W. Hemphill of Greenwood, S.C.; one son, Benjamin A. Watson (Maura) of Great Falls, VA; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Dabney Trevillian, Emeline Stratton Preston, James Warren Preston, III, Albert Evans Hemphill, Claire Shaner Hemphill, Paul Hardin Hemphill, Andrew Hill Watson, Mary Katherine Watson, Thomas Evan Watson and Benjamin Askew Watson, Jr. A memorial service will be held at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Darlington, SC Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10am. Following the memorial service, a graveside service for the family will be held at the Monroe City Cemetery in Monroe, NC. The services will be conducted by the Reverend Andrew O'Dell.
