Rosaland DeAnn Thornhill-Moore, 81, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at her residence.  DeAnn was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Allia Mae Collins Purvis and Willard Alexander Purvis.  She graduated from Hannah High School in 1960 and went to work for GE and several other companies.  After a long career, she obtained her realtor's license and worked in the real estate industry until her death.  She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her first husband, John "Sonny" Thornhill, second husband, Stephen Randolph Moore, brother, Willard Wayne "Billy" Purvis and a brother-in-law, Larry Blank.

Surviving are her two children, Elaine Thornhill (Nelson) Lee and John "Johnny" Thornhill; four stepchildren, Lennie Moore, Cliff Moore, Sherrie Moore and Randy Moore; four grandchildren, Whitney Lee (Andrew) Vovou, Alex (Allie) Lee and Beatriz and Byran Jordan; three great grandchildren, Wesley Ganes, Stavros "Stavie" Vovou and Kirby Lee; siblings, Scott (Belva) Purvis, Silvia (Jack) Turbeville, Nancy Blank and Kay (Jimmy) Matthews; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Cain Calcutt Funeral home.  Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Florence National Cemetery.   The family will also hold a celebration of life at Victor's in downtown Florence.  The time will be announced at the service on Thursday.
