Columbia, SC Ronald Nicholas Jarzabek, 67, of Columbia, SC, formerly of Florence, SC, died on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Jarzabek was born in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Evelyn Gacsady Jarzabek and the late Chester Jarzabek. Ron served his country in the US Army. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved going to his lake home on Santee and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving is his wife, Linda Haithcock Jarzabek of Columbia, SC; his son, Paul Welch, Jr. and his girlfriend, Lisa Miles Williamson of Florence, SC; daughters, Tammy Taylor of Florence, SC, and Cherokee (Stacy) Upton-Welch of San Pedro, CA; grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Welch, Gabe and Alex Upton-Welch; a brother, Gerald (Judy) Jarzabek of Cleveland, Ohio; other family members, Deb and Mike Rabjohn, Danny Haithcock, Faye and Wendell McDowell, Buddy and Michelle Sauls; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 21, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Cain Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013, at 11:00 am at Florence National Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the ALSA Foundation.
