FLORENCE, SC Dr. Roland LeRoy "Roy" Skinner, Jr., 79, died March 24, 2011, in Florence, SC. He was born June 21, 1931, in Columbia, SC, to the late Roland LeRoy Skinner Sr. and the late Irene Early Skinner. A funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Cain Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM Saturday. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LeRue Skinner and LeMar Skinner; and a sister, Rosalyn Skinner. Dr. Skinner retired from Jeter-Skinner Family Practice after 43 years of practice. He was a member of the South Carolina Medical Association, Florence County Medical Society, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and the Florence Symphony Orchestra for 54 years. He also was a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Gilliam Skinner of Florence; sons, Dr. Roland L. (Julianne) Skinner III, Gilliam (Katri) Skinner both of Florence, and Harold Skinner of Lancaster; brother, LeGrand Skinner; grandchildren, James Asa Skinner, Oliver Larkin Skinner, Ashley Skinner, and Rebecca Skinner.
