Roger Andre' Malfatti Jr., age 83, passed away on July 3, 2024, in Florence, South Carolina. Born on September 10, 1940, in New York, New York, Roger had a distinguished career in the arts, notably as a concert manager in New York and a symphony manager in various cities including Long Island, NY, Des Moines, IA, Savannah, GA, and Florence, SC. Roger was a graduate of Hofstra University, an institution that laid the foundation for his illustrious career in managing musical talents and symphony orchestras. His passion for music was matched by his commitment to community service. He was actively involved in various organizations, such as the SC Pecan Festival, the Masterworks Choir, the Art Trail Gallery Chamber Series and Photograph Exhibits, the City Parks and Beautification Committee, and the SC Festivals and Events Association. Roger is survived by his wife, Salley Davidson; daughters, Theresa "Tracy" Sutphin (Christopher) and Jennifer Wolfe (Ronald); stepdaughters, Jennifer Lewis (Adam) and Amanda Martin (Scoota Franklin); grandsons, Andrew Sutphin (Gabrielle) and Ryan Smith; and step-grandchildren, Hannah Lewis and Foxx Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Andre' Malfatti Sr. and Janet D. Malfatti, and his brother, John "Jack" Malfatti. A service to celebrate Roger's life will be held at 2:00pm on July 16, 2024, in the chapel at Central United Methodist Church in Florence, SC. Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is proud to serve the Malfatti family.
His legacy will continue to influence and inspire through the many lives he touched with his work and community involvement. Roger will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and a pillar in the arts and local communities.
