Robert Davis Thompson, Jr., 69, of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025.  He was born in Sumter, SC, a son of the late Carolyn Smith Thompson and Robert Davis Thompson, Sr.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Patsy Hudson Thompson.

Robert graduated from Presbyterian College with a Business Degree.  He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity.  He was the former owner of Thompson Oil and Gas in Olanta.  Robert enjoyed cooking BBQ, fishing and deer hunting when the time allowed.  He loved the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Surviving are his daughters, Paige Andrews (Doug), Dawn Thompson (Drew Maykuth) and Heidi Gilmore; grandchildren, Grant Andrews and Lauren Davis; sister, Carol Power (Tracy); brother, Mel Thompson (Sherry); niece, Julia Thompson; three nephews, Jake Thompson (fiancé Emily), Jason Thompson and Justin Kirby; and a special friend, Audrey Minck.

A graveside service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM on Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
