Robert William Thames, Sr., 66, of Florence, S.C., died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Carolina's Hospital System in Florence, S.C. He was born in Florence, S.C., a son of the late Duncan and Paulina Barth Thames. Robert served his country in the United States Army Reserves and was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence. In addition, he was a member of the Willow Creek Hunt Club. He is survived by his wife Pat Thames of Florence, S.C.; a son, Robert William Thames, Jr. of Lexington, S.C.; a daughter, Elizabeth Thames of Lexington, S.C.; two brothers, D. Allen Thames of Beaufort, S.C.; Jimmy Thames of Lebanon, PA; two sisters, Marie Crosby of Lexington, S.C.; Becky McDonnell and her husband Dan of Abilene, Kansas; two grandkids, William Carter Thames and Michael Gary Thames; a brother-in-law, Alvin Davis; a niece, Tiffany Davis; a close friend Joe Cook; and many other friends. The family will receive friends Friday, July 29, 2011 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Mt.
