IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Barry
Gardner
July 31, 2012
Robert Barry Gardner, 56, of Florence, S.C., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Carolina's Hospital System in Florence. He was born in Florence, S.C., a son of the late Thomas Archie and Alice Killinger Gardner. We lay to rest a wonderful Christian man. He was known by many names but to us he was known as Baby, Dad, Pop, Mr. Barry, Uncle B, Son-in-law and his favorite, Paw Paw. Barry was the best family man this world has ever seen. Family was always gathered at his house. When he cooked he always made you eat too much and then tell you how skinny you were looking. Barry loved his passionate wife Susan. She was always by his side. We loved to see the two of them together, whether Susan was yelling "Barry!!!!" or he was sticking his finger in her ear. They loved each other very much. Barry was always eager to help others, whether it was cutting the neighbor's grass, cleaning the church or just to ask, "Is there anything I can do?' He had a way of making you smile, even the grocery store clerks. Barry was a veteran of the United States Army and participated in Desert Storm while serving his country. You knew he was a proud American and a proud Christian by his tattoos he loved to show off. He loved working out at the gym to stay fit. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Susan Rogers Gardner of Florence, S.C.; two sons, Robert Jason Gardner and his wife Angela of Florence, S.C.; Jonathan Keith Rogers of California; three brothers, a twin brother, Larry Gardner and his wife Clarice of Florence, S.C.; David Gardner and his wife Lynn of Saluda, S.C.; George Gardner and his wife Charlotte of Charleston, S.C.; mother-in-law, Frances Hazel Rogers of Darlington, S.C.; six grandchildren, Madelyn Poston, Corey McCarthy, Trevor McCarthy, Jason Gardner, Charlie Gardner and Kayce Logan. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home.
