IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert K.
"Bob" Mcelveen
April 1, 1942 – June 16, 2023
Robert K. "Bob" McElveen, 81, of Maggie Valley, NC, went to his heavenly home on Friday, June 16, 2023 after an illness. He was born in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Eugene Bertram McElveen and Lyndal Haynes McElveen. Bob grew up in Darlington, SC and graduated from St. John's High School. He served in the National Guard and lived in Florence for a time where he worked at Procter & Gamble. He then moved to Maggie Valley, NC where he and his wife, Brenda, owned and managed Bear Run Log Cabins. He was passionate about his church, Peachtree Community Church in Maggie Valley. He loved playing golf, shagging and vacationing at the beach with his wife. He also loved muscle cars, especially corvettes, and he enjoyed painting homes for home improvement. Bob loved his family, friends and his church family very much. One thing about Bob, he was real. To know him was to love him. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish Bob's memories are his loving wife, Brenda Lewis McElveen; two daughters, Lauri McElveen Perkins (Frankie) and Kelly C. Parker (Brad); two sons, Wes Caudle (Tammy) and Clint Caudle (Jenna); nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Per Bob's request, there will be no service. Instead, those who wish to remember him are encouraged to donate to his church. Memorials may be made to Peachtree Community Church, c/o Geraldean Cauldwell, 211 Indian Creek Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751.
Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the McElveen family in their time of loss.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their care and support.
