A memorial service for Mr. Robert Lee "Bob" Best, husband of Mary "Libby" Hawkins Best, will be 3:00PM Sunday, May 17, 2009, in Cain Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Michael Mills. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately after the service. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 915 Cherokee Road, Florence, SC. 29501. Mr. Best, 74, died Friday, May 15, 2009, in a local hospital. He was born July 12, 1934, in Bamberg, SC, to the late William H. and Mary Folk Best. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Best was Classified Advertising Manager at Florence Morning News, having retired after 26 years. He then started B & B Auto, a wholesale car dealership. He was known and loved by all and had fond memories of Clanton Auto Sales. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 48 years, are: sons, Robert "Robbie" ( Robin) L. Best Jr. of Georgetown and Greg Best and Steven (Melissa) G. Best both of Florence, SC; daughter, Charlotte Acebal of Florence; four grandchildren and brother, Willie "Bill" (Rachel) H. Best of Columbia.
