Mrs. Rita Purvis Sauls, passed away, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was 63 years old.

Rita was born in Florence, SC, on August 18, 1959, to the late Robert Wayne Sr. and Syliva Melton Purvis. She was a member of West Florence Church of God. She loved Arts & Antiques, fishing on the pier, and going to the beach, and spending time with her family.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; husband, Steven Sauls; sister, Patricia Purvis Johnson; nieces, Stephanie (Chris) Goldman and Kristen Meadows; nephew, Mark (Tonya) Long; great nephews, Matthew Long, Ian Goldman, Liam Meadows, Brantley Meadows; great niece, Leah Meadows.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; brother, Robert Wayne Purvis Jr; paternal grandparents, Robert Wiley and Nettie B. Purvis; maternal grandparents, David Wilbur and Janie Bell Melton.

A visitation will be held 6-8pm, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Cain-Calcutt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Cain- Calcutt Funeral Home, with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Florence, officiated by Rev. Bobby Strickland.
