Richard Brunson Ward, 79, of Lamar, SC, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.  He was born in Hartsville, SC, a son of the late Jesse Lee and Cornelia Brunson Ward.  Mr. Ward was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple for 48 years.  Hew was the owner/operator of Carolina Asbestos Abatement.  He loved woodworking, including making bowls and urns.

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Pamela Venable Ward; two daughters, Dawn Crites (Bill) and Enga Hair (Chad); two grandchildren, Maddison Acciardo and Corinne Hair; one great-grandchild, Henley Acciardo; two brothers, Don Ward (Janet) and Randy Ward (Sandy); a sister, Mary Ann Floyd; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2024 in the Florence Baptist Temple chapel with burial to follow at 1:00 PM in the Lamar Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Frank W. Monroe Scholarship Fund, 2308 S. Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505.
