Ralph Eugene Hatchell, Jr., 85, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020.  He was born in Dillon, SC, a son of the late Annie Pearman Hatchell and Ralph Eugene Hatchell, Sr.  He is also predeceased by his wife of 28 years, Sandra Hardin Hatchell and his son in law, Samuel Thomas Morris.

Ralph graduated from McClenaghan High School, has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a PhD in Psychology from University of South Carolina.  He sold insurance later in life and played in the Ed Turbeville Band for more than 40 years.

Ralph is survived by two daughters, Laura Hatchell Morris and Alexandria Hatchell (Galen) Newton; two grandchildren, Ashley Morris (Paul) Calcutt and Christyanah Newton; and three great-grandchildren, Carter Calcutt, Zileigh Calcutt and Hayden Calcutt.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Florence National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Ralph Hatchell on Yancy Drive.
