Phillip Jerry Hollis, 54, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, at Carolinas Hospital. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, a son of Betty Jo Gray Glenn and the late William Jerry Hollis. He is preceded in death in addition to his father, by two brothers, Darryl Hollis and Jeff Hollis.
He graduated from St. Claire High School in Odenville, AL. He was working at Tia's Tex Mex in Tallahassee, FL, when he met Paige, the love of his life for 17 years. He then worked at Marty's Pub and Grill in Statesville, NC. He was an avid golfer and loved taking road trips.
Surviving is his wife of 12 years, Paige Henson Hollis; his mother Betty Jo (Jerry) Glenn; three sisters, Lynn Hollis (Michael) Warren, Crystal Hollis (Doug) Selly and Connie Hollis (Harvey) Woody; his mother and father in law, Kelly and Sharon Henson; and a number of nieces and nephews and one great niece.
A Celebration of Phillip's Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Oak Mountain State Park in the Magnolia Pavilion, 200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, Alabama 35124. Food will be served. Upon arrival, please notify security that you are there for the Hollis service.
