Philip John Baiers, 68, of Florence, SC, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 14, 2021.  He was born in Washington, DC, a son of the late Frank and Doris Mathedies Baiers.  He is also predeceased by a brother, Paul Baiers.

Early in his career, Philip worked for the state police and as a state trooper in New Mexico.  He then worked for the FBI until his retirement, after which he was employed with the Francis Marion University Police Department as a dispatcher.  He loved playing golf.

Philip is survived by his wife, Diana Martzall Baiers; three children, Frank J. Baiers II (Tyna), Marci Watts (Hank) and Russell Bowden (Rae); a brother, Bob Baiers (Diana); two nephews, Paul Baiers, Jr. and Patrick Baiers (Chrissy); five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
